Busy Thursday!

Thursdays are going to be busy for us this year. Every other Thursday Tatum has girl scouts, and every Thursday she has dance from 4:30-6:00 Girl scouts starts at 6:30. We are going to have time to eat dinner and run to girl scouts. Today was her first day of dance. I stayed and watched her for the 1st hour then I had to go to the school for parent teacher orientation. She really seems to like dance. She is in a class of 6 girls. 2nd-4th grade. However, they are all in 2nd grade. There are two girls in her class that look like 4th graders they are soo tall. Most of the girls in the class know each other. I could tell it was hard for Tatum to fit in at first but she said she made friends with the girls.

Tonight was parent teacher orientation. I really think I like her teacher. She seems to enjoy teaching and she seems to have a true desire to help them be their best. She stays after school and tutors whoever needs it. She taught 3rd grade before she taught 2nd grade so she knows what is expected of them in 3rd grade. I'm going to be the room mother this year. Tatum is very excited to have me as her room mother. I was the room mother when she was in Kindergarten. Last year we didn't have one and this year its ME! I'm really looking forward to this year.

Tatum seems to be growing up right before my eyes. Tonight we were finishing up her homework and the phone rang. I did not recognize the number, I answered, from the other end i hear a little voice say "who is this?" I answer " this is Shannon" then I hear "UMmmm I was wondering if Tatum is there?" " oh yes hold on" Tatum: "who is it?" ( as her face is red and she looks like she has seen a ghost!) Me: "Can I ask who is speaking?" Little voice on the phone " Cheyenne" Hand phone to Tatum! Tatum gets this HUGE smile across her face and plops on the couch for her 15 Min convo with Cheyenne. They talked about Library books and what they did tonight. I had a Mommy moment watching my seven year old hold a phone conversation. WOW.
